Hollow City

Hollow City
By Ransom Riggs

This is the sequel to Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. I read the last book three years ago so It was hard for me to remember much of what happened in the first book. It took me a little bit to remember some of the more important aspect of the Peculiar children and the creatures they were running from. That being said, I don't think it was too hard to follow what was happening and I found myself interested in their plight, despite my lack of knowledge.

I found the story to be interesting and I loved all the pictures through out the book. It is really fascinating how he can take all these old photos and turn them into a story. Really the photos themselves make the book worth reading.

I do have to admit that it took me almost a week to finish this book. Partly because I have not been sleeping well, causing me to be to tired to read at times. Partly because the book just didn't capture my attention as well as some of the more recent books I have read. I am truly enjoying this series and this book did not disappoint. If you can't tell from this picture this story is based around the Fairy Tale, Rapunzel. I know I said this last time, but I really love how she is able to incorporate these fairly tales into her stories, yet at the same time creating something both unique and engaging.

There was a lot going on in this book and the story moved pretty quickly. Just what I needed at this point in my life! I found myself reading it at any free moment I had. Always a good sign that I'm really enjoying a book.

I liked the new character Cress, and thought that she was a good addition to the story. I still find the world the author has created fascinating and I can't wait to find out how the series ends. Of course the last book isn't out yet so I may have to wait a while!
